If they really can't figure it out, have a mod host the games with the right map and then leave after game started, I guess.

Another problem is how to distibute players.

Setting up strong players against weak ones leads to boring one-sided games and is frustrating for lower rank players, setting up equally ranked players against each other means that half the better players are elininated after round 1 which is even more undesireble.

Just randomizing everything can lead to either bad outcome...

That's why group rounds or double elimination would be so much more interesting :\ But without proper implementation it would likely get just messy...

A player setup like this could work (numbers are player ranks based on ICCup points):

ranks 9..16 or even 5..16 could be completely randomed instead. But given the differences in player skill to be expected I\'d say at least players 1..4 should receive a safe spot.

I did good walls at first time in melting pot :D!
Gemlong is easy walling. Of couse, as freakling said, yo don't need to put the pylon there, unless you want to make sair reaver. Talking about that, you can wall that way in pathfinder. You can watch pvz's there where protosses tried reaver/sair using that kind of wall (and not allowing middle size units to leave).

Soooo, i think that the size of the choke is good.

EDIT: About the pictures that freakling posted. I would make the wall like second picture, but with gate/forge at the top of the choke so zerlings has to walk around to run to the ramp.

The only problem with that is that gate is not ling tight with top against terrain. Hence the third variant with forge against terrain...

In Melting you essentially build like in (surprise, surprise) Destination with the Nexus as part of your wall. I played along with it and relized while it equally possible to block the choke in all start locations the ability to place cannons (and how many of them) is quite different for some SLs... Probably adding or changing some doodads would help...

ok i just can say about the format:
it sounds complicated what you suggested freakling. plus it would take at least 2 people hosting this tour. we could use the TL.net grid or Defiler.ru grid for double elimination format if that is still wanted.

No one wants to make a start and talk about new maps/make suggestions how to improve the mpas currently in the map pack.
