There is a lot of UMS mappers that know how to unlock maps. They refuse to share how to do it for fear of widespread use (including on their own maps) but I'm sure if you ask nice enough they could unlock some maps for you. some mapper channels are &Z on us west and clan (u) I forget their channel on us east.
Oh, it's no secret how to unlock maps. Grab a hexEdior and WinMPQ, pull some .chk specs out of the internet (good ones are rare nowadays, though... I assume that mine are the best floating around, but I haven't finished them yet and especially not had the time to write them down and bring them online).
Then open the map with WinMPQ, open the .chk from there with your hexEditor (Mirkes, "TinyHexer"), and correct the stuff that the protection scrambled/copy the important parts over into another map.
The problem is that there are many different protection methods, and some are quite tricky. It usually takes quite some time to correct everything so that the map is at least readable in SF (the most tolerant of the editors around).
If you know OSMap very well, you can probably fix the stuff that blocks OSMap fairly fast and then run OSMap over it. After hearing that it is written in VB my interest in it sank to the bottom.
Maybe my editor can fix it, btw ;) But you already have got your map over at Maplantis.

Oh, btw, I haven't told you yet how satisfied I am with every map that OSMap fails to unprotect ^^
EDIT: UBERLOL @ OSMap :D :D
Open/Save in my editor, and the map is openable in SF. Open/Save in SF and it is compatible with SCMD2.
I may add that I did NOT add any corruption fixes into my editor. All it does is read any map that is playable in SC (at least all those I tested so far).
And no, I won't release that editor to the public anytime soon. And when I do, it won't serve as an Unprotector (you will be able to open protected maps, but no copying or save allowed)
Releasing it in its current shape would be shameful, anyways ^^
I might open some stuff from time to time, for reliable people, of course ;)
And don't get me wrong: I am no protection freak, but if someone protects his maps, I respect that. modified by spinesheath
