I've just pushed three air maps in the DB whit nearly the same concept of game play but completly diffrent maps. For me this is the concept which should be on every air map who want to be called at least a little more balance then normal. I would be really happy if someone also point out some maps like this since i am a really big fan of those maps.

AND STILL (4)Nautilus 1.1 IS THE MOST BALANCE AIR MAP FOR ME :D

P.S. I am talking about 4 players maps only.

The concept you mean is that everything except for the mains is connected, but not too open; almost lt/luna-style with additional islands as mains - if you allow the comparision.

estrella? with an added geyser or whole expo in the mains the map would be completely balanced imo. It's one of them better island maps, as it's semi island, only the mains are island and not that significant.

I like forbidden zone, but I hear it's imba, but don't feel like theorizing for that map since no one plays it anymore.

I hate Estrella. Damn those Semi-Air maps with those weird naturals in the middle of the map. Normally I'm good on air maps but Estrella is a map I just can not play.

But I love my air maps <3

on estrella/FBZ as terran just turtle 1 base terran with 3 facs pumping goliaths and a starport getting dropships. then you drop at around 5-6 dropships

NFZ is probably the worst air map for terran. No Terran player should EVER pick this map. It's impossible to win against Protoss.

Just getting the natural up and running is quite difficult in TvP, and later it is still quite a "big" and open map. I agree it is really hard to play TvP. Estrella plays quite similar, but is much better for terran as he can secure expansions much easier.

Yeah, LGI is talking about semi-air maps. And come on, I loved Estrella. I think Estrella and Gaia were the only good WCG maps.

EDIT: Yeah, Nautilus is still my all-time favorite island map.

I like Azalea. I hate paranoid android though; most wcg maps have sucked. Gaia is great except the pos imba (and some would argue about the tight middle being t>p, but they probably can't play pvt to save their life). Estrella is nice, but it's an island map and I don't get to play them often, and therefore suck at them, lack of experience and practice and whatnot. Azalea is nice, but protoss players don't know how to play against z apparently =/ (Oh noes they expo twice I am helpless, I could take my two expos and stop future zerg expoing but I'll sit here with me nat and get rolled over instead).

if you get vertical positions they can just push along highground which is the most difficult of the 3

horizontal, they know that your going to expo along sides, farthest away, so vulture harass is made pretty simple, not to mention pushing is linear and you cannot flank because theres only one path in center. cross positions is kind of better then horizontal , but still difficult due to again no flank.

Pvz on azalea is hard BECAUSE protoss has the 2 nats. every protoss says " oh yes i will expo twice and i wont be helpless, i will stop zergs expos!" WRONG. the longer you take getting out, the faster zerg just makes a hatch at the mineral only of another base and gets 3 bases. you see its worst then nromal maps with nat/main getting static defensed.

if terran IS - as you say - forced to do vulture harass, then protoss DOES know this, which means he cuts a few zealots and builds 2-3 cannons to every expansion. so P>T! EASILY! -.-

fucking at least read what you quote. Vulture harass is made EASIER.

and you should never have to build cannons at your 3rd base already. thats auto loss vs a terran who 2 base masses (6-7 fac with no mines/speed vultures + siege tanks and will just roll your base because not enough units)

About NFZ: Testie once went (more than) 100-0 pvt on PGT on NFZ, and he says he didn't dodge any player.

This should prove the imbalance of NFZ pvt. It only applies above a certain skill level, though.
I am not THAT sure about the exact reasons, being neither p nor t. But from what I know it is because all the expansions in the middle lie so open and protoss can gain ground control pretty well (probably because of the 2 paths).

dodged any1 over 50 percent wins lol. too bad PGT isnt still up, you could see the gamelist. either that or it was just coincidence that everyone he played sucked, which deosnt prove much about imbalance if he was better then all of them..

Are those game lists still on (or better; were they?).
And I followed a conversation where Testie strongly insisted on not having dodged anyone. I trust him that far; and even if he dodged people, 100-0 still was a good indicator for the imbalance of NFZ, because even testie loses a game every now and then ;) Remember that Oov lost to Testie on PGT once as well (probably not on NFZ, dunno what map that game was on), and I'd estimate Oov to be a LOT stronger than Testie :p

Every single game was against players that were 1 whole rank lower than Testie. This means C vs D,B vs C and so on.
