| I'd Like to suggest a new map definition. (L)mapname for people learning mapping. New members are the lifeblood of a community and an important resource and should be highly prized, many of which, including myself, choose this site to learn because of your high standards. (new mappers are a compliment!) As a Map site with high quality maps it is understandable many members dont like learners, segregation may be the key, so mambers who like to help can continue to do so without impacting the quality of maps in your dbase While not all new members are learners, many are and as a learner I dont feel right cluttering up your dbase with noob maps. I'd also like to suggest an article "So you want to learn to map" which can link to important articles, have a glossary of terms and even some learning projects. Learning projects would help with creating maps that show a learner simple principles and help you comment on then knowing what the goal was! Then looking at others learner attemps and reading comments would teach quite a lot. Some simple diagrams about layout types, FAQs like "ramps" all in the one article you can direct people to. You were learners once too and look how much you have contributed since. Learners may be an anoyance, but assume some may one day contribute as much as you have and look out for them and get them started off on the right foot! modified by Woedin | ||
