How about we decide on a minimum of 10 or more replays for a map to be qualified to take part in the MotW vote? This way we would eleminate the risk of the map being crap in the end.This way the maps would get tested too.
10 reps would take quite a while to get. They are menat to show aspects/problems of the map, as well. Otherwise I could just go 10 times vs the computer (or 2, or 3 of them, no problem anyways) and submit it.
no1 has been gaming on these maps b.c either ppl dont have time or they arent interested enough.. though i dont disaprove of the idea... its just not solid.. there arent enough ppl willing to play test.. and yes i speak for all who say/think that i am rong.
10 replays is alot but then again i do understand that it shows good or bad gameplay in the map.
10 replays is like nothing.Just ask a clanmate to play with you and when you are inactive and don't play anymore then ask others to play it for you. Even I get people to play my maps without them being MotW-Candidates(in your eyes XD)
But it would be really depressing to try and get 10 decent and hopefully fairly unique replays of a map you already spent a lot of time on, and then not have it become motw.
It's not a bad idea, but not everyone can get10 replays of a map. And 10 replays do very little if they're all the same mu, or if the players are not very good. If a person isn't in a clan it would be virtually impossible to get replays of a map, and to discriminate against people not in clans would be mean. Idk about you but no one ever joined my public map testing games. And even if someone did they likely wouldn't be very good. And no one on pgt is going join a game on a map that won't give them points.
So what if Nightmarjoo doesn't know the right people, but his is definatly worth a MOTW? I doubt YOU would go out and try to pull together 10 replays.
Just look at Nazca: Everyone wanted it to become MOTW so badly, but there are just 6 replays yet. I doubt we would be able to announce any more MOTWs if that requirement was made...
there are so many things that are impossible to judge from the map, and seriously playing on the map will find.
look at the artist. 2 of the island expansions were fucked up, the bridges were fucked up, and if you want to look at statistics it had worse balance for p/z than most other more played maps. where is your analyzation there? it grabbed motw, and mots, but i could assure you that had it been played a lot more before it was motw or mots, some of those problems could have been found and fixed.
solid playtesting of the map helps work out the kinks of the map. and if you arent willing to have at least some demonstrative replays of a map, that means either people dont want to play your map, or youre not putting enough effort in.

or you could be gosu and somehow force them to test your pathfinding
but still I got reps on my map transposition, everyone in my clan who saw it liked it. But the map makers of this site didn't think it was motw material. Reps don't make a map.
