2.4 rocks. 1-2 Years ago I had the same point of view as you have, changing LT (esp. the 1000 different versions) seemed just wrong to me. But now that I care more about gameplay and balancing than a few years ago, where it all was about uniqueness for me, I think it was neccesary to fix LT. Why should controlling the cliff at 9 mean killing two expos, while it only affects one on all other positions. Why should you need 3 hatch expo at 12 and nowhere else?
It's still not perfect, but balancing wise better solutions like "the lost shrine" are too much changes imo.
I would not play any other LT version anymore:) |

you need to redo your categories imo. what's the point of "classic?" u should have a category called "semi-pro" for maps that have been used in some leagues, tourneys, decent stuff like that but not the good korea leagues (pro).
LT deserves more to be "semi-pro" than "classic" which includes blizz maps no one should really play anymore.
then u could rename "classic" to "blizzard" or whatever.
u could also seperate pro further by having "current pro" and "retired pro"
in short, i hate "classic" idea. and we need "semipro" to differentiate between user-final maps that have gotten play and those that haven't. |

LT 2.4 is easily the best version. But if somone wanted this map perfectly balanced it would still need alot of work.
If zerg is at the 9 oclock main, cant zerg fast expo easier?
Before, Its min only was tankable from the highground.
In current versions, 3 + 6 still have min onlies that can be seiged by tanks on opposite side of walls, 12 + 6 dont have that.

I like the positional imbalance (except when i get 12/3 -_-) It makes for variance in the games instead of each base being exactly the same amount of space away from each other.

it favors some strats and limits some. you can do dt drop on terran quite good on 9-6 while you cannot on 9-12. you can go FE being zerg with 2 hatch on 9o'clock in ZvT, while you can't even go 3-hatch if you're on 12 and terran on 3...

And no, I won't start spamming bwmn with reps of my matches on LT, Luna, Gaia and such. Those certainly show higher skill than this rep. Even alone because of the skill of my enemies, and I win quite a lot lately... (2n2 mostly, though). |
