longinus: main, nat, double gas expo, triple it: 12 gas, with 15 total, and many more mineral blocks. More minerals and gas than is on my map, even with the double gas expos being 2500 each geyser. | Rye | | | Yeah, but Longinus and Python are three and four player maps, respectively. Rye, how often is longinus played with more than two people? Virtually never, and you know why? Because you can't 2v2 on it and it sucks balls for 3 players, there's not enough expos for 3 players lol. As for Python, while there are 2v2 games played on it, 2v2 is generally much less bothered by the map, and you don't end up using many expos anyway usually. In 1v1, do you think players only use the bases owned by themselves? No way. Lots of players even go take a nat and then the main behind it after their own nat, defending both expos at a single point. So, I gave players that fourth and fifth gas that usually is present in a second main/nat in the form of the corner expos, which are more vulnerable by land but less so by air than the normal 2nd main/nat.
Also, baekdu is a 2player map and it has the same amount of gas, and it's a smaller map. Why on earth would I have less gas on such a big map? From the min only placement I certainly don't intend to make that a key strategic location, not anymore so than on python or longinus, it's just there to form a structural expo layout that works with modern gameplay. So I'm not going to have 8gas like luna, in which the min only expos are KEY because of the lack of expos.
Really ugly design? Radix sorry I'm not a mapper who has to rely on visuals to make a map someone likes :( Visually, the map is ok imo, it just has no patterns. The edges are all nice, and the in-game look is ok. As for the no highground, where would you want highground to be placed? The mains? Why, just to say "HEY LOOK I HAVE HIGHGROUND" ? ._.
